Amusement for all.

Adventureland Park is the only true amusement park in Iowa. The park has mellow rides (the train), rides for toddlers and young children (Infant Ocean, Lady Bugs, etc), water rides (Raging River, Sawmill Splash), spinners (Inverter, Falling Star), and 2 wooden roller coasters, and one inverted steel roller coaster. The Tornado was a top 10 coaster in the country when it was built, and is still an incredible ride.
Prices of food or inflated, but not nearly as costly as a Six Flags park. There are ample games for all skill levels, and decent prizes at that. If you live somewhat close to the park, it is worth the investment to get a season pass. 2005 prices were $27 / adult, while a season pass was $70 for May thru September. Oh, and the funnel cakes are amazing.
Fun coasters!

Adventure Lands is the only real amusement park in Iowa. Lines are never super long and it's admission prices are reasonable (under $30). It's worth going to once a summer. It doesn't have the best rides, but it's coasters and water rides will tide you over until you can take a trip to Great American or Disney World.

This amusement park is centrally located in Iowa. There are lots of rides for everyone in all age groups. The log ride and raging river are always a hit. Expect a long line on hot days and weekends. The food costs quite a bit and is not all that great. I recommend bringing your own for a picnic outside the park later.
